Stephanie Myrick, Fort McMurray

Stephanie Myrick is a dedicated advocate for inclusion and accessibility with nearly a decade of leadership experience in the disability services sector. As Regional Program Manager for Spinal Cord Injury Alberta in the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo (RMWB), she founded the Regional Inclusive Committee, uniting nonprofit organizations across the region serving people with disabilities. Following the 2016 wildfires, she partnered with Regional Emergency Social Services and municipal government to establish a Vulnerable Persons Registry, and collaborated with the RMWB and the Regional Advisory Committee for Inclusion, Diversity and Equality to modernize accessibility bylaws.

In 2016–2017, Stephanie served on the Premier's Council on the Status of Persons with Disabilities, advising provincial leadership on policy matters affecting Albertans with disabilities. She holds a Diploma in Therapeutic Recreation and is currently working with Girls Inc. of Northern Alberta.

An accomplished self-published author of five novels, Stephanie brings a creative and communication-driven perspective to her work, along with an extensive background in fundraising and event planning. Her governance experience includes board service with the Wood Buffalo Community Village, Critical Incident Stress Management, Safe Community Wood Buffalo, and the Royal Canadian Legion McMurray Branch 165. This diverse cross-sector involvement reflects a deep commitment to community resilience, inclusive planning, and systemic change, values that closely align with From Barriers to Ability's mission.
